Carole Norris Sondrup
Carole Sondrup’s (Author) three children grew up with Amy. Their grandfather, Robert C. Norris – “Cowboy Bob” – had been asked to let Amy and her eleven “cousins” live on some property owned by the family. Amy did grow up with the horses and cows and dogs – and a goat – who made T Cross Ranches their home.

This is Carole’s first book. She is a grandmother of seven and was integral in arranging for Cowboy Bob to get the training needed to be able to communicate with Amy, using a language-like system that is now standard with zoos throughout the world.


Rich Head shot Richard L. Marks (Illustrator) is an award winning artist specializing in water color, acrylic, and oil paintings in addition to murals and graphic design. He lives in Kiowa, Colorado and Gold Canyon, Arizona.

Richard has collaborated with a number of clients including the NFL, Celestial Seasonings, The NHL, City of Palm Desert, Cabela’s, Bass Pro Shops, Colorado Cancer League, The Salvation Army and Vail Resorts.

He has illustrated the book One Perfect Boy. Elephants Love Cowboys Too! is his second adventure as a children’s book illustrator.

Mara Purl (Publishing Consultant & Project Manager) is a co-founder of Haven Books, Bellekeep Books, and Mindprints Literary Press. She serves on the Board of Author YOU, and on the Advisory Board of Ingram Spark. She is the former president of Colorado Independent Publishers Association, and previously served on the boards of the California Literary Arts Society and Women Writing the West. In addition to her primary work as the best-selling author of the Milford-Haven Novels & Novellas, Mara is a writing coach and publishing consultant. She is a frequent presenter at writers’ conferences, a faculty member of Publishing at Sea, a keynote speaker for women’s organizations, and writes guest blog posts for USA Today, National Association of Baby Boomer Women, and several others. Rebecca Finkel (Book Designer) Recognized nationally and regionally for award-winning book design, Rebecca Finkel, of F + P Graphic Design, specializes in multi-faceted projects; integrating text, photos, and graphics to create a unique look. Rebecca enjoys finding solutions to complex design projects. In addition to books, Rebecca creates eBooks, calendars, catalogs, logos, brochures, and marketing collateral. From initial concept to printed product, F + P Graphic Design sees projects through on deadline and on budget. She lives in Fort Collins, CO with her husband, two daughters and cat.



Kelly Johnson (Tech Guru & Website Creator) works with authors to manage technical, creative, and administrative projects for their businesses and books. She’s an article writing coach, does blog and website creation/maintenance, knows how to implement an online shopping cart strategy, and is the principal of Cornerstone Virtual Assistance. Kelly serves on the board of AuthorYOU and is a faculty member of Publishing at Sea. Her website:
